Shipped Semen Service
We provide fresh-chilled shipped semen for a fee of $1,000, which covers the stud fee. Our current stud is Kash Blue Eyes Miller. The $1,000 fee includes the semen packaging, insemination supplies, and 2 vials of semen from a single collection, which can be split into two separate inseminations for optimal results. Alternatively, you may inseminate with both vials and request a second shipment if needed. Shipping costs typically range from $200 to $250, depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend. This covers the collection, supplies, shipping container, trip to the shipping center, and the actual shipping cost. Let us know when your female starts her heat cycle so we can plan the shipment accordingly. You’ll need to work with a qualified veterinarian specializing in breeding, who will conduct progesterone testing, cytology, and artificial inseminations. Your vet will determine the best time to inseminate your female, and we’ll coordinate the shipment of the chilled semen.
Both the stud fee and shipping costs must be paid before the semen can be shipped. Additionally, a completed Stud Service Contract, along with a copy of your female’s registration papers, should be sent via email or mail to us at shiningcenglishbulldogs.com. The contract is available on our website. After this, contact us directly for payment details at
469-207-9678. The semen will only be shipped once payment is received.
Fresh Cooled Semen
We can ship fresh-chilled semen directly to your veterinarian, ensuring it arrives alive and motile. If your veterinarian evaluates the semen and finds it unsuitable, they must refrain from inseminating your female and notify us the same day. We can then arrange for another shipment or issue a refund. However, if the semen is inseminated, the guarantee is void, and no refund will be issued. Conception is the responsibility of the female’s owner and veterinarian. Proper timing of your female's cycle and correct handling of the semen are critical to success. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out for more information.
Instructions for Shipped Semen:
Information We Need:
The date you need the semen.
The first day of your female’s heat cycle.
Contact information, shipping address, and phone number for the recipient of the semen.
A copy of your female’s registration papers and pedigree (if available).
Payment of the stud fee ($1,000) and shipping costs ($200 for weekdays or $250 for weekends), which must be paid in full before shipment. If multiple shipments are required, an additional shipping fee will apply.
During semen collection, a quality analysis will be performed to ensure the semen is viable for breeding. We use an extender to maintain the semen’s motility and longevity. Contact us early to ensure there are no delays in shipping. Please notify us by 12:00 pm if you need semen for next-day delivery. Note: Payment must be received in full prior to shipment to avoid delays.
Checking Motility:
Always check the motility of the semen sample before insemination.
Warm the sample to 37°C, as chilled sperm may appear sluggish until warmed.
Gently invert the sample tube to mix.
Place a drop of semen on a pre-warmed microscope slide, cover it with a warmed cover slip.
If possible, keep the slide on a slide warmer or heated microscope stage before checking motility under the microscope.
If your veterinarian does not approve of the semen quality, do not inseminate the female.
Preparing for Insemination:
Your veterinarian may centrifuge the semen to concentrate the sperm or simply mix the sample gently before insemination.
You can choose to inseminate with both vials or use one vial for the first insemination and store the other for the next day.
If using two vials, inseminate one and refrigerate the second vial overnight (do not warm and re-cool the semen).
To warm the semen, place it in your hand or pocket for a few minutes. Do not microwave or use excessive heat, as this can damage the sperm.
Inseminate your female immediately and keep her hind end elevated for 10 minutes to ensure the sperm reaches the reproductive tract.
